Introducing Stacey Porter
As a part of our Winter Art Trail, we’d like to introduce you to the artists that produced the wonderful artwork for the trail. In the Artist Spotlight today, we have Stacey Porter, lighting up your way with her beautiful snowy scene at Stowmarket Library.
Introdrucing Stacey
Stacey Porter is a freelance artist based in Suffolk and has lived here all of her life.
After a long break, she re-discovered her love of painting during lockdown and left her job early 2021 to focus on her art.
Stacey is mostly inspired by colour, and loves bringing a picture to life using light and shade. She works mostly with acrylics on canvas but is also happy to use other mediums, previously customising a guitar with sunflowers!
‘I really enjoy the process of painting, having a picture in my mind, and seeing it evolve as I work. Often ending up very different, and better than I’d imagined in the beginning.’
To see Stacey’s contribution to Stowmarket’s Winter Art Trail, you’ll find it in Stowmarket Library’s window, which is near St Peters and St Mary’s Church! The Winter Art Trail runs until January 21st 2022 and trail maps are available from Fox Yard Studio. After that, all the artwork on the trail will be displayed at the new arts bar next door, Pallet.
